NamiComi is a platform for creators to self-publish and aims to maximise success by facilitating translation, print and merchandise.
The 'Originals' model generally hurts creators by pushing for platform exclusivity (i.e. only publishing on that platform), limiting downstream opportunities (all merchandise has to be approved by the platform) and heavily skewing marketing and promotion for titles that are Originals versus titles that are not.
Further to that, creators are contractually required to meet tight deadlines, which is often detrimental to their health.
